As a Business Development Specialist at CDG Group, Putter has worked full-time with CDG and feels fortunate for the opportunities to learn various aspects of the job. With supportive colleagues, he’s gained insights into both the big picture and details of his work. He’s worked with a relatively autonomous supervisor, enabling him to propose ideas, express opinions to solve problems, and improve various tasks without being tied to conventional methods.
“Start with Why” or asking questions for better results is one of the primary mottos of CDGs Core Values. Putter explains that asking good questions is a starting point that stimulates people to generate new ideas and fosters positive impact more quickly. “If we Start with Why in various tasks and by asking the right questions, we will know why we are working on a project, not just setting goals for ourselves, but inspiring team members to think and analyze together. When we think and inspire action, we can continuously share ideas and improve opportunities to create better results or solutions… If we ask, the world changes.”
Goals in work and life must be clear. As a Business Development specialist, Putter’s main task is to explore new opportunities for the business. He’s found that a crucial skill for this role is asking questions to understand others’ needs. He admits, “It’s not easy if we try to drive work solely without understanding others’ needs. When we receive a task, we should ask questions first: what their problems are, where they come from, what they really need. Only then can we choose the right tool to solve the problem and achieve better results. Once solved, we look for other existing problems to continuously improve on. With this mindset, we’ll always see opportunities for both work and personal development.”
