“Garmin Blue Run 2017” encourages runners to challenge their potential and participate in the fund raising running activity to support the Utokapat Foundation, under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King
GIS Company Limited, the authorized distributor of Garmin products in Thailand, hosts the second consecutive year of “Garmin Blue Run 2017” to encourage runners and health enthusiasts in keeping on good health and going beyond their limits. This running activity also aims at raising funds in order to support the Utokapat Foundation, under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King. Garmin will donate 100 baht for every runners who finish the race within designated time and double it up for the runners using Garmin products. The event takes place on Sunday 18 June 2017 at EZ Park, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, expecting more than 5,000 runners to attend this year.
Channarong Teerarojanarat, Garmin Product Manager, GIS Company Limited said, “The annual running event “Garmin Blue Run 2017” will be held this year as the second consecutive year. The activity aims at raising an awareness of the health advantage of exercise to public, encouraging people to keep themselves fit and firm, and giving a chance to go beyond their limits enhancing the potential of one’s self. This has followed its first year’s success in which Garmin has received overwhelming responses with more than 3,500 runners taking part with. For this year event, we continue to emphasize on Garmin Challenge that challenges runners to push beyond their limits while allow all participating runners to join fund raising together at the same time. In the case that any runner finishes mini marathon within one hour or half marathon within two hours, Garmin will donate 100 baht per one runner. For those who use Garmin products, the company will double the amount to 200 baht. Donation will be contributed to the Utokapat Foundation, under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King.
“Running is an excellent choice of exercise that keeps a perfect balance between body and mind. It strengthens muscle, keeps joints in good function and maintains a healthy cardiac cycle, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol as well as reduces stress. Running obviously bring a person to improve the personality. New runners should always prepare and practice regularly to avoid any intense injury. This year we expect the increasing number of participants to 5,000 runners including general members of the public and runners from clubs. We therefore invite family members, youngsters, teenagers and health enthusiasts to take part in this event and to help raise money for the Utokapat Foundation, under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King. The fund will support the foundation’s effort to solve the problem on water resources for community and the country,” Channarong added.
The race is divided into two categories: Mini Marathon (10.5km), submission fee is 600 baht and Half Marathon (21km), submission fee is 800 baht. All applicants will receive cool race pack and medal, with Finisher by Garmin T-shirt for half marathon finisher. Moreover, for customers who use Garmin watch imported by GIS, only fill in the watch’s serial number on the application form, you will receive 100 baht discount.
